Email signatures with essential contact information, a witty quote or some marketing speak are a fine tool. Here’s how to set up your signature in Yahoo! Mail.
Set Up Your Yahoo! Mail Signature
To set up an email signature in Yahoo! Mail:
- Select Options | Mail Options in Yahoo! Mail (near the top right corner of your Yahoo! Mail screen)
- Go to the Signature category.
- Make sure Show a signature on all outgoing messages is selected.
- Enter the desired email signature.
- Click Save Changes.
Set Up Your Yahoo! Mail Classic Signature
To create a signature in Yahoo! Mail Classic:
- Select Mail Options from the Yahoo! Mail navigation bar
- Follow the Signature link (under Personalization).
- Enter the desired signature in the text field.
- Click Save.

Use Yahoo! Mail as a Virus Scanner
To use Yahoo! Mail as a virus scanner:
- Create a new email message in Yahoo! Mail.
- Start attaching your files.
- Be sure to remove the files immediately after attaching them.
Note: You cannot scan files larger than 10 MB in Yahoo! Mail.
Yahoo! Mail Classic only allows three attachments per message. And be aware that the process of scanning your files can take a very long time. Every file must be uploaded to Yahoo’s servers before it can be scanned. You cannot scan files bigger than 1.5 MB in Yahoo! Mail Classic.

- In Yahoo! Mail:

- Go to the Accounts category.
- Follow the Add or edit an account link.
- In Yahoo! Mail Classic:
- Go to Mail Options.
- Select Mail Addresses under Management.
- Choose Check Other (POP) Mail.
- Click Add.
- Give the account a descriptive name under Account Name:.
- Click Continue.
- Enter your name under Name:.
- Type the account’s email address under Email:.
- Click Continue.
- Enter your mail server name, user name and password under Setup Mail Server.
- Click Setup Mail Server.
